Janet Lane provides technical assistance to Second Chance Act grantees and guides the development of the reentry resource directory. Before joining the CSG Justice Center, Janet worked extensively on reentry initiatives; most recently, she served as the director of Justice Reinvestment in the Maryland’s Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention. Prior to that, she served as a reentry coordinator for both Somerset and Wicomico counties in Maryland under two separate grants. She was also a parole and probation agent for six years. She has worked extensively with people in the criminal justice system and has facilitated classes in jails and prisons, such as a comprehensive reentry program for 50 men who were diagnosed with serious mental illness and housed on a maximum-security mental health unit in Massachusetts. Janet graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in sociology.
