Elizabeth English Smith provides technical assistance to grantees in the Innovations in Reentry and Innovations in Supervision programs. Previously, Elizabeth was the manager of external affairs at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where she communicated AEI's work on prison education and reentry to policymakers, researchers, and state and local leaders. She also served as a research associate at AEI, travelling around the country to visit and write about evidence-based correctional education and reentry programs. Elizabeth sits on the national advisory board of the Prison Entrepreneurship Program and the advisory board of The Petey Greene Program, an in-prison tutoring program. She received a BA in political science and Spanish from the University of Michigan and her MPP in criminal justice policy from The George Washington University.
